About Second Chance Parrots

Our Mission

Welcome to Second Chance Parrots, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting parrots in need. Through fundraising, crafting, education, and sanctuary assistance, we promote responsible ownership and help provide essential resources for their care.

Educational Resources

We believe education is a vital component in ensuring the well-being of our feathered friends.

What we do

Second Chance Parrots is dedicated to supporting exotic parrots in need through fundraising, crafting, education, and sanctuary assistance. Rather than directly rehoming parrots, we focus on providing resources to sanctuaries, shelters, and responsible caregivers who give these birds a second chance.
Our mission includes:
Raising funds through donations, crafting, and community events to assist parrot sanctuaries.
Providing education on responsible parrot ownership to reduce the number of surrendered birds.
Connecting the public with fostering, adoption, and surrender resources while ensuring ethical care.
Advocating for parrot welfare by promoting awareness of the unique challenges exotic birds face.
Through these efforts, we strive to lighten the burden on sanctuaries, help parrots receive proper care, and bring attention to their long-term needs.

Our Story

As the need for sanctuary support and responsible parrot care grows, we saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Our passion for these birds and commitment to their well-being inspired us to create Second Chance Parrots, providing resources, education, and funding to help give them a second chance.

Many pet parrots need new homes because of their long lifespan, often outliving their owners. Unfortunately, not all animal shelters are equipped to take in these birds, and local sanctuaries are already at capacity, with limited resources. Parrots are unique pets in that they deeply bond with their owners and are highly social intelligent animals. Without proper care, they can become depressed, even harming themselves. Many parrots are surrendered multiple times due to noise, aggression, destruction, or outliving their owners.
Sanctuaries work hard to break this cycle by only adopting to those who prove they are prepared for the challenges. This can be a long process and the need for continual support of Exotic Bird Santuaries grows as the popularity of owning these birds increase. We aim to assist this great cause by helping to raise awareness and provide fiscal or material goods for their needs.

Supporting Magnolia Exotic Bird Sanctuary

At Second Chance Parrots, we are proud to support Magnolia Exotic Bird Sanctuary, our closest local sanctuary for parrots. While our mission focuses on connecting adoptable birds with new families, Magnolia provides a permanent home for parrots who cannot be rehomed due to age, special needs, or behavioral challenges.

By supporting MEBS, you extend care to birds who need lifelong sanctuary. You can help by donating, sponsoring a parrot, or volunteering directly with them. Together, we ensure every bird-whether rehomed or given permanent sanctuary-receives the love and safety they deserve.
